Inspired by the village bar bistros of South West France, the Bunch of Grapes is open for lunch and dinner every day. We're open for dinner Monday - Wednesday, lunch & dinner on Thursday and all day Friday - Sunday when you're welcome for just a drink, a quick snack or for dinner. For Winter we're also open early at the weekends so pop in for a fantastic brunch. We aim to be the perfect neighbourhood bar & restaurant.

You’re welcome for a drink at anytime. From your morning café au lait to your late night digestif, we’ve got it covered. Our incredible wines are imported directly from the vineyards of South West France and we’re serving a range of local ales, speciality hot chocolates, delicious cocktails and everything else in between. Santé!

We serve classic French dishes, often from the "Bertha" wood fired oven, which burns oak, ash & fruit woods every lunch & dinner service. Our excellent Steak Frites come from the grass fed Blonde Aquitaine herd two miles away at Church Farm Meats & are chargrilled in the wood oven. Our 'Beer Can' Poussin, an entire bird, brined & smoked & served whole with sweet & smokey ash baked leeks & leaves. The Moules Frites are fast gaining a reputation - inspired by Chez Hortense in Cap Ferret where they add chorizo & jambon to the mix. And despite the chef's protestation you can always have a burger (which is awesome!). Pissaladière, our wood fired flat breads & a salad make an excellent lunchtime snack whereas early evening you might want to share an Aperitif Plate over a glass of wine - cheese beignets or a rabbit rillette perhaps?
The Market Menu, for lunch or dinner is seasonal & changes daily, sometimes even during service. At the time of writing I would choose the asparagus with crispy truffled egg, then the pork belly with clams whereas I'm sure my husband would want bone marrow on sour dough toast & confit duck burger with chicory & apple remoulade....
Our delicious food is prepared from scratch by co-owner & Head Chef Steve Carss & his fabulous team of chefs on the top floor. They work exceedingly hard & we're very proud of what they produce.
"From their grapes to our Grapes" Our short wine list is imported directly into Bradford on Avon from small scale producers in South West France. We know the story inside each bottle, in fact Peter even assisted the harvest of the Oiseau! Many are organic, some are even bio-dynamic - all are delicious and great value since there's no middle-man taking a margin.
We also have a small but perfectly formed cocktail list, made with the same care and attention as our food while on the pumps we offer a range of local beers, cask ales and an ever developing Craft Beer range on keg.
Don’t forget our fabulous coffee, roasted by Extract in Bristol, teas from the Canton Tea Company and West Coast Hot Chocolates from New Zealand.
And if none of that hits the right note today then maybe you're in need of a glass of Pineau. Ask Cameron to pour you a large one!
We love a good shindig at The Grapes and have several bookable areas for your celebrations, from a cocktail party for six on our Late Table at The Grapes, or a meeting one of our two upstairs rooms to a taking exclusive hire of the entire building for a stylish wedding, a big birthday party or a truly awesome 'works do'.
Our beautiful private dining room seats twenty and comes with a choice of menus. We have bargain rates for a weekday or lunchtime gathering and Sunday Lunch parties have a really lovely atmosphere. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org

The Grapes is a collaboration between five friends with one thing in common - another life spent amid the vines of South West France. Andrew and Anna Barwick own and run Chateau Rigaud, where Steve Carss has been Head Chef for the past six years. Debrah Smith and Peter Woodcock own and run 42 Rue Victor Hugo, down in the Languedoc. Together we've eaten more duck and drunk more wine than is sensible or good for us and it was exceedingly delicious! The Grapes is about bringing all the best bits of South West France back home. We're importing our favourite wines directly from the vineyards that produce them and serving them with dishes that were inspired by our favourite restaurants and food memories of the past twelve years, many of which are cooked in rustic French style, over wood. And to cap it off there's even a bit of French retail thrown in. Ooh La La!
